There’s a small device called an incentive spirometer that is used for patients who need to do deep breathing. You have to lift up a little ball with your breathing. It’s literally resistance training for your lungs. I give it to patients with rib fractures so they know they are breathing deep enough.

I don’t, never had a doctor that told me I should. I just ride my bike, it must build up my lungs.

I suppose it depends on how acute your athsma is. I have a little gizmo that I’m supposed to use several times a week.
