Hemingway might have been good at it. Many of the ads in the ‘40s and ’50s were clever and almost of literary quality. .When you think of it, most ads are little teaching tales of self-improvement and helping others to improve. These days, the subject to be helped or corrected is what I call The Stupid White Guy..On the other hand, Faulkner as an ad writer … don’t think so.
