Phoebe: I've never gone to camp before! Marigold: I have. When I was a little filly, I used to attend LOVELINESS CAMP. We would spend out day playing LOVELINESS BALL. and eat meals in the LOVELINESS HALL. It was... LOVELY! Phoebe: Too bad you didn't go to adjective camp.

Among humans in America, camps (in this sense of the word) started around 1900, in reaction to the industrial world seeming to draw modern children away from Nature-with-a-capital-N. But we don’t know enough about Marigold’s world, or how the Hnau there feel about any dangers which may seem inherent in their own culture(s), to guess at what may have happened there, or when it may have happened

“Filly”? She maintains she’s not a horse, but that’s a horse-related word. She needs her own word for “Young Female Unicorn.”
