And I wouldn’t be surprised if Fritz Ann tells Sam that Bardoll was connected to the Apparatus, too. (I’m sure Sail has a silent partner who provided Bardoll for that attempted Space Coupe theft.)
I dunno. Does this tie directly into Sail/Bardoll, or is it an unrelated crime? So far I don’t see any reason to think it’s related to Mysta’s situation.
The Apparatus?! This may be why the FBI nymphomaniac had to be re-introduced into the story. The plot is rising above the MCU’s jurisdiction.Clone-Moon Maid will probably end up on or near the Wheaton farm, where a mighty confrontation between the forces of Good and Evil may be approaching….
Remind me again what business all the sleazy looking characters are in? is it a crime syndicate? Kidnappers? Terrorists? Wait! Aren’t they natural gas drillers?
The Apparatus was the major crime organization that seemed to be in charge back when Big Boy ordered his personal vendetta hit on Tracy. The Apparatus shut Big Boy’s “hit” down, because it was decided it was bad for business, in that it would draw attention to their activities. However, Big Boy went against their orders, since he was dying anyway.
the “apparati” on the right seems to be somewhat femnine in appearance judging by the silhouette… shoulder length curly hair, giant hoop earrings in both ears, the long somewhat extended neck… and the one second from the right looks like diet smith! lol!… but i *BELIEVE** this is the first time we’ver ever seen any sort of DETAIL on one of the apparatus members.
anyone recall that “profile” in the last panel? or even better, check the profile of the FOURTH one.. far left, in the second panel… seems to have somewhat bushy eyebrows.. looks like another “grotesque” is gonna make an appearance here.
and WHY do they have a picture of hy pressure on the desk in front of them? wouldnt it be a kick if the apparatus turned out to be renegade members of the moon people? lol
my first thought about the one on the far left was that it could be INFLUENCE, the cheekbones and brow kinda of match, but according to the dick tracy wiki, he had reformed so i guess that rules HIM out
I haven’t commented in a while, because what I want to say, everyone here already said it before I had the chance. Trust me, it’s not a complaint at all. I love it that I’m on the same page, as it were, with all of you. I just can’t wait to see how all this fits together. Personally, I’m surprised that Bonnie Braids hasn’t shown up yet.
I am really enjoying the complexity of the plot Mike has conceived. I am aware that there are those who would prefer more simplicity i.e.: a crime a short chase and a shootout. I, on the other hand, prefer something with a bit more depth like Mike has given us. Like real crime, everything is not solved so easily. Great work by Mike, Joe and the team.
wow! just sat here and watched all 28 minutes and 13 seconds of this.. no wonder why it didnt get picked up by any television station back in 67… its even cheesier than the batman series was lol! still, victor buono who played king tut on the batman show, and eve plumb who played jan brady were in the show (eve was in credits only as bonnie braids) and tracy was played by ray mcdonnell who went on to star on all my children for FORTY YEARS!!
The Apparatus sounds like an organization. Doesn’t have to be of criminal intent, but remember the bottom line doesn’t include human rights, life or anything important like that.^^The apparatus is Gould’s slightly disguised term for the Chicago CORPORATE mob, known as “The Outfit”
I would also like to add how much I appreciate this discussion forum. It seems like most daily comics sites these days are overrun by snarky, rude people. So nice that the people who comment here are mostly fans like me. I love reading the comments as much as I love reading the strip.
the other day we were discussing Bonnie Braid’s last appearance in the strip, she was living in Washinton state on a native reservation and engaged to a Res Cop… here they are, note that her BF looks an awful lot like a native American version of her Father (Not surprisingly, they took to each other right away)
I think Hy Pressure was always suppossed to be shown as an African-American, as he’s also colored that way over in the “Comics Kingdom” version of the strip.

Sparkle will be found, thanks to this bunch.

Maybe Sparkle will be recruited by the Apparatus… or NewMM, perhaps.

Whew, now the Apparatus group is involved. This is developing into a rather sticky wicket!

the receptionist looks a little sleazy… she’d look more so, if the colourist hadn’t coloured her legs blue

Where did the colorist get the idea that Hy Pressure should be depicted as a black man? When we first saw him, he was depicted as a white man.

wonder if the aparatus is aware of stiletta’s little gang of thugs?

Oho, so maybe the fracking story is a lie, a cover for the Apparatus’ real aater pollution causing plan.
