[last panel]So THAT’s what he said in English. The Spanish translation had him say “I always end up fasting”. I don’t know why they couldn’t have him say “Nunca sé lo que sucede” instead of “Siempre quedo en ayunas”.
There was a time when she was taking a survey to find out how crabby she was. She asked various people to rate her on her crabbiness on a scale of 0-100. Patty gave the most accurate answer with a rating of 110.
I have this strip…Snoopy thought it was a skirmish between the enemy and he ran through them to break them up….funny huh?!!!!..and Charlie said I never know what’s going on…wonder what they thought when Snoopy ran and knocked them in the air?!!!!
One panel is missing from this—the original Panel 2—where Linus tells Sally,“Good luck,” (with getting a “straight answer,”of course), I JUST happened to notice that. And, of course, in Panel 5, we have a “tangle of conversations,” what I mean is, Sally has just told her “big brother” to slug Linus(for not wanting to marry her, of course), and then, right at that moment(in Panel 6), is where Lucy happens to enter the scene, apparently having heard the word “slug,” and so is led to believe that Charlie Brown intends to slug HER—hence, where the “tangled” dialogue comes in. I have had a few paperback Peanuts books containing this Sunday strip, over the years, like when I was growing up, so naturally, I have seen it MANY A TIME.

“Marry me or my brother will beat you up!” Sally would get in trouble for sexual harassment if she tried to pull that stunt today.

That’s…“Who’s gonna slug whom?” I’m surprised Linus didn’t mention it.

I remember laughing at this when I first saw it, in the Sunday paper, 47 years ago.

Lucy defending Linus. Now, that’s a surprise.

She and Linus share that pose. Sally and Charlie have similar poses. Perhaps it’s genetics.

Snoopy: “CHARGE!”And Charlie Brown, Sally, Linus and Lucy all turn red when they get knocked over. Is this intentional or a coloring mistake?

Why, oh, why, is Lucy such a belligerent bitch?

I agree with the others who already said it – this Sunday strip made laugh when it first appeared, and still does today.
