You know, Allgood never wanted to hurt anyone. He just wanted to be liked for who he is. Asking him to fight back against the playground bully like this just isn’t fair.
Ok so he dies of cancer of the lungs instead. I take that instead of this fuss. Close but a little :(>Too much heat here in California. Tomorrow will be 104 they say. So I am just not tuned up for good comments.Blessed Be

If Allgood has any sense, he’ll try to instead get out of there and tell everyone in Endtown exactly what happened, not even trying to minimise his own involvement. It might not work, but it’s now his best-case scenario.
Don’t shoot to kill, shoot to wound/disable. A nice little kneecap shot would take that smug look off JJ real quick. Or maybe draw on Velda and see how loyal JJ is to his own
If Allgood chickens (apologies to the poultry mutants) out, then Jacob will go on to having direct control over Endtown. If Octavius anda does indeed have “the stones” to pull the trigger (and it is loaded), then Mister Jackrabbit is made the martyr and his people will move in to rule that much easier.
Jacob certainly has his pieces set up to win, even if he loses at this point. However, his attention seems to be pointed right at Allgood, so, if there was someone to get inside the well defended upper fortress…
Anybody who isn’t sweating in this comic knows something that the sweating people don’t know. Now excuse me, time to dance the Plot Twist some more! Dancedancedance
Loyalty test. Lets see how devoted JJ is to his minions….Allgood, train your weapon on Velda. If JJ says go ahead shoot her, that will get Velda thinking that JJ is only in it for himself only and for the power. Everyone else is fodder and stepping stones for his own ends.
One thing that just occurred to me – when Roxie the waitress told Dottie that she still believed in what the Society for the Preservation of Human Values represented, even if she couldn’t believe in Allgood – if she is one of Jake’s plants, then she was lying. And remember when Allgood spoke in front of an empty room? If Jake told all of his plants to stop attending the meetings, that one crazy person that did attend could still have been one of Jake’s people.Has Allgood had time to realize all the implications of what he’s just been told?
A: It’s Jackwabbit season.J: Panda season.A: Jackwabbit!J: Panda.A: Jackwabbit!J: JACKWABBIT.A: I say it’s Panda season!Allgood turns gun on himself.Blam!
I’m fairly certain that the gun is loaded. A dead Jackrabbit would make him a martyr and everything that he stood for would proceed even faster than it will if he’s left alive.
The dead change our society faster than the living ever could.
@ Dirtyoldlady1and @MacEwanMouse: God bless you guys and stay cool! My air conditioner is out, but strangely enough, St. Louis is going through a rainy, cool spell. Very unusual for the beginning of July. 75° and rain… VERY different from the 100° and drought we had last year! Lovin’ every minute of it, and wishing and praying the same for you guys!
Could be it is a prepared gun like the one that Flask tried to kill Wally with and Jacob knows it. I think he is too much of a control freak to leave anything to chance.
Well here goes. Mac will not like the tactics.Jacob knows looking into the eyes of the Panda he does not have it in him. Even if the gun was fixed it is still not a smart thing to do. But it makes it purpose. Jacob is firmly dedicated to the cause and will to die for it. Death for him is not an issue. He survived the Schism he talked about and that must be hell. To Jacob that gun would be a relief from the life he is living now. (Now the fun part.) Allgood does not have the look of a killer. He is not telegraphing anything but hesitation and indecision. Jacob is telegraphing absolute determination and no fear or hesitation. Its what I read but heck what do I know. And Surf you are right. Every day we fire officers, new ones that do shoot first without evaluating the situation. Homeowner killed here in Fort Worth the other day. Checking his garage for a burglar. Two officers show up no cover open area. Homeowner has a gun. Cops see gun. They yell “Drop the weapon” He begins to turn to acknowledge the cops and is dusted right there. Shot in the right back and shoulder. He was not even facing them when he was shot. I guess that is what Mac is talking about. That’s the military way. Good tactics there I guess. Lawsuits will settle that. Personally I do miss that old revolver I carried for 22 years. S&W 357 Mag Trooper model N frame. Big, heavy, and loud. What I liked about it when facing a bad guy, I would be pointing (weapon don’t want you to think I was using hands) while giving commands. If I saw hesitation, indecision, lack of cooperation. I would cock the hammer back going to single shot from double action. It is something to see that cylinder rotate and watch that silver bullet end (we used 125 gr semi-jacketed hollow points, the ends were silvery) roll up behind the barrel. You knew it was loaded and it was ready for business. Only 2 pounds to pull the trigger. I hold a Masters certificate in Firearms. 60 rounds B-26 target. All inside the 9 ring. 3 yards to a final six at 50 yards.Bad tactics Mac I know but remember these were my decisions and I am still here. (There are written tactics for encounters. I find they rarely work according to plan. Never seen one go by the book yet.) So they must have worked. Feel free to critique. Opinions are like butt holes. Every one has one. Remember the saying.Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome. Marine Recon I believe. If it works it works.Later Mac enjoy your day. I have a funeral to go to. Driving my Captain there. Deputy in Granbury killed by that crumb. Shot before he could react. Guess his tactics were bad. It was a disturbance call. Some what routine. He should have gotten out in full battle gear and bristling with weapons. (Your tactics Mac) But we cops got the crumb later.
Well, played, Jackrabbit. You have successfully created a Xanatos Gambit. If Allgood shoots, then his opponent will surely be seen as a martyr by his supporters, leading to even more fracturing within the city. But if he doesn’t, then Jackrabbit has won the day, and his plans will be able to be executed unhindered.
“Then you could cherish the look of surprise on my face. Because I’d be surprised, Sherlock. Really I would. And just a teensy bit disappointed. And of course you wouldn’t be able to cherish it for very long”
It looks like Jack rabbit is taking some pointers from Moriarty
And at the last second he TURNS THE GUN BARREL ON HIMSELF AND FIRES! However the bullets fly out the back end into Jackrabbit because the barrel was blocked.
I didn’t notice that Velda seemed alarmed before. I would have bet money that the weapon was inoperative but I also expected that Velda would have been the one to take care of that sort of thing. We also know that Jacob really isn’t the hero type so either he is absolutely convinced that Allgood won’t pull the trigger or that Jacob is willing to die for his cause and I can’t see him doing that.
For the record, I meant a weapon that modded to hurt the shooter. I think Veteran got that.
I have seen pistol barrels where someone fired into a jammed barrel and they kind of have a bubble at the blockage. In the one case I got the story shooter wasn’t badly injured, but fortunately he was on a range and wearing safety glasses at the time.
He was also an idiot for pulling the trigger again after something didn’t seem right on the previous shot.
Darwinskeeper,Did another change. The Chevy was nice but seemed too small I will have to find another. But this one is the last Mustang I ever drove. 1993 model. This one was equipped with light bars. The previous one was “grill” lights slick top. I always liked the slick top models we had. Made it easy to sneak up on folks. The light bar gives it away but we make due with radar and distance.
Not to change the subject, but does it matter that Otto is five or six times bigger than Jake? And there might be a benevolent dictator on the High Council testing all of these?
More likely than not, the gun has been gimmicked so that trying to fire it will instead take out Allgood. (Something sophisticated enough that it won’t take Jake out with it, alas.)
