I keep hearing (from Cubs fans) how they have won more games against the Cardinals, (name any team,) then they have lost.

If true, which I admit I have never bothered to check out, why have they not won a World Series in decades (1907, 1908 was the last) then?

They have had great players and good coaches, (again according to Cubs fans,) but they can’t put together a World Series Season? What’s with that?

I don’t believe in “curses” BTW. Especially over a goat, for heaven’s sake!

    Comments? Reasons?

    Gracias,

    Glenn

“Blown save” was Saturday’s Rangers / Tigers game.[]Although the Rangers were ahead 4-1, the Tigers were slowly starting to rally; even if they lost, it looked like the Tigers would at least keep the Rangers from getting any more runs.[]Well, the Rangers had a guy on second, and another batter was up. The Rangers’ batter went out, but rather than toss the ball back to the pitcher the Tiger outfielder who had it (for whatever reason) decided to pop it up to a Tiger player near second.[]The Tiger near second missed the catch, at which point the Ranger on second got brave and went for home. The Tigers picked the ball back up and tossed it home, but the Tigers’ catcher dropped the ball right as the Ranger was crossing home. []Cue the game going 5-1. The Rangers would later pull a last-minute double-play (they had a guy send one into the stands, allowing both him and the guy already on base to both make it home), taking the final score to 7-1 Rangers.[]The only thing keeping it from being a truly humiliating bust for the Tigers was the fact that the FC Dallas / Real Salt Lake major league soccer game was even more abysmal. Even with FC Dallas getting physical and RSL’s first goalie being taken out of the game with a leg injury in the second half (at which point he was replaced by a rookie who hadn’t played a major-league game before), RSL still pulled out a 3-0 win.

Try rooting for the Royals sometime: we have the longest playoff drought in all of North America for the four major sports! (Of course, we DID win the World Series back in 1985…..haven’t made the playoffs since.)

The Cubs are the major pro-sports team (including everybody in the NBA, MLB, NFL, NHL) with the longest championship drought, last time the Cubs WENT to the World Series was before the NBA even EXISTED.
