I expected someone to point out that Ira Gershwin wrote the lyrics (which is what’s being quoted). Actually Porgy and Bess was a massive redo of DuBose Heywood’s play with incidental music called Porgy. Summertime’s lyrics and the book were the main survivors from Porgy. Ira did most of the others (I Got Plenty of Nothing, It Ain’t Necessarily So, etc.).
