Transcript:
Jack: Dad, I can't see a thing. Gary: The tree I want is right in front of us 15 paces. Stay here while I cut it down. Noise: Gazzzz... gzzzzz... gzzt! Gary: Come help me load it, Jack. Jack: Dad, it has no limbs, but it already has a garland on it. A metal garland with sharp points. Gary: Dang. Why would somebody put up a fence way out here?

I love the art in today’s strip. Bill is a master of creating nature in motion (moving water, wind, etc). I love the muted detailing of the characters. I also amused myself by pretending that this was Pa and Albert searching frantically for Half-Pint who was kidnapped by the Abominable SnowPioneer. Just one thing: Where did Pa get that chainsaw?

“Just a hundred yards to Mary-Ann”
From an ancient country-western song my Dad listened to when I was a kid. It looked appropriate here. About a guy who freezes to death in a snowstorm on his way home.

Has anyone read ‘The Children’s Blizzard’? That’s what this remonds me of.
