Sounds perfectly sensible to me.

And the weather tonight: Dark.

If there’s a tornado, it might matter.

I don’t get the Bee-dee-etc. part. At first I thought it might be that horrible emergency broadcast sound, but it doesn’t fit the situation. Some weather program’s theme music maybe? Anyone know?

Funny!! Despite finding no humor in most Garfield comics now days, finding these rare funny ones is why I take a quick look every day.

Bee-dee etc is the sound they used to indicate a news bulletin back in the day. I’m with Garfield -staying inside. Expecting 103 in the midwest today. Already 95 in the high school classrooms.

I heard the “Bee-dee…” stuff as the way Porky Pig always began his sentences.

Or it could be Morse code…

Correct it is Morse.

Walter Winchell radio (1930’s): Morse sounds followed by): “Good Evening Mr. and Mrs. North and South America and by shortwave to all the ships at sea! Flash! Roosevelt elected!”

Radios droned on and on, all day long folks half listening. The Morse tones signaled: Pay attention now! Garfield here is breaking into the regular program with a very important weather flash!

My 2 kitties like to lie in the sun, so they might care a bit about the weather.
