I resembled that remark – over 60 some years ago. Although, I seem to recall getting sent to the principal’s office in the first grade for holding hands with the little girl across the aisle.
@ Jo Clear I think, in most cases anyway, it’s peer pressure more than actual hate. Or to put it another way, it “fashionable” to be a girl hater when you are too young to know better.
Sorry, my ‘rant’ was also about diabetes, but it got lostsomewhere between my editors page and ‘submit’..Anyways, we sure have fun stabbing fingers and calc-ulating the food factors, don’t we?
I think Skylar is supposed to be around 12, so it’s not long. I don’t think “hate” has ever been the right term. I think it’s always been part peer pressure and part a simple lack of common interests. Girls are compelled to play sports now, but off the athletic field I still don’t think there’s much common ground for pre-teens.

Maybe you stop hating girls when your classmates stop teasing you, accusing you of “loving” one?

No, ex-wife’s gonna remind him when he hated girls! But he’s already stopped hating girls because he’s about to fall over right now!

I don’t think it’s just about age. Even romance between adults can be inconvenient/uncomfortable, depending on the situation.
