I once had an extremely large arachnid crawl over me while I was nearly asleep. It made it to the edge of the bed before it was forced to become two dimensional with the aid of my shoe.
Here’s a great National Geographic video of the Goliath Bird Spider (largest spider in the world) catching a mouse:http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/animals/bugs-animals/spiders-and-scorpions/tarantula_goliath/
At our house, we catch the spiders in a jar and then release them back outside. We are TOO BIG for them to eat or even try to “bite,” but we know they can fulfill their predatory role on the creepies outside. Too bad they wander into the house, so we do them the courtesy of showing them back to their more suitable environment. Except for the invasive species whose venom is especially nasty to everyone— such as the brown recluse and hobo spiders…them, we eliminate.

It’s more unsettling when you know it’s around but you don’t know where it is.

It was glowing. Contrary to popular fiction, glowing spiders are more likely to cause radiation poisoning than amazing and spectacular talents.

I hope this doesn’t mean Beardo was off because of a spider bite!
unless it was a radioactive spider.

I like spiders, but not in the bed.

Spiders don’t bother me. 2-inch cockroaches: now THAT freaks me out!
