i agree with the old school notion a bedroom is for sleeping and stuff otherwise might as well put in a fridge and microwave so you can make popcorn or hot chocolate.
The lack of comments are interesting. For the last few months, I have become convinced that Jimmy Johnson has gone off the deep end into some kind of disassociated fugue where his strips wander from raunchy sexual references to completely boring non comic strips…. Perhaps Mr. Johnson is suffering from some kind of dementia> I wish him well but, these strips are basically unreadable.
Using the bedroom for other activities can lead to insomnia. For those of us who have trouble sleeping to begin with, the mind needs associate the bedroom with sleep, and not much else (excepting that other activity that belongs there) .
I think they do have to be funny. If I watch a horror movie it should be scary, a comedy funny, a drama dramatic, I do realize it’s subjective though. I wish they would add a thumbs up or down vote option here to help the writer reach his audience better.
My take on this is Janis cannot hear the TV, and she keeps peeking at it anyway. Without sound, it’s distracting her more that with it.
I believe that the Sunday strip is colored by Mr. Johnson. The daily strips are done by syndicate colorists which explains the frequent misinterpretations.
I totally get it, though the only time we ever had a TV in the bedroom was when I was sick and confined to bed and my hubby would play video games in there for me. To this day that midi video game music will help lull me to sleep.

The distraction is bad enough, but not knowing what is going on when you do look is worse.

When we get a TV in the bedroom, it will be time to call in a lawyer.

The gag would have worked better had the colorist consistently done Janis’s eyes. As is, she looks as if she is nodding off in some panels.

Arlo’s watching tv and listening with earbuds. So Janis is being distracted from the book by the image without knowing what’s going on in the show.

Arlo just needs to start streaming on his tablet.
