I’ve received several emails from runar over the years. I know his real name, his address and his telephone number… however, I don’t think it would be appropriate for me to contact him directly. I sent him an email recently, but it bounced back. I’m not sure what to do now.

I don’t think that an expression of concern is ever wrong. We are rather worried about him.
I called runar. His phone rang and rang.. but I did manage to leave an incoherently mushy voice message. I told him how concerned we are about him. I also said that we all miss him terribly. I’m not sure what else I can do.
At the very least, we can leave him messages here…

You did your best. He’s knows that we’re concerned about him. Thanks for calling him.
I am here, and I thank you all for your concern. I fell behind in keeping up with my postings, then took ill with respiratory problems - I’m asthmatic, and changes in the weather make things even worse. Once I got so far behind in keeping track of things, the prospect of keeping up became so much more daunting that every day made it even harder to think about making up for lost time. When Theresa called me today, I was at the doctor’s finding out why I’m still sick, and I would gladly give up a prescription to talk to her. I’ll try to post, but I can’t guaranteee that I’ll be up to my usual scintillating wit (ha!). It will also take me a while to pick up on the past month’s cartoons and postings - for example, reading yesterday’s comments, I apprecieate what Theresa said about how she preferred to be addressed. I always called my wife “Sandra”, and was always surprised to hear others call her “Sandy”. By the way, it’s entirely possible that the email address Theresa has for me is obsolete; I changed ISPs a while ago.
There are many friends here and some belovéd enemies. It’s odd to think that one can acquire both a reputation and a following simply by commenting on others’ work, but, on the other hand, some of my most admired writers have been critics - think Dorothy Parker, Ambrose Bierce and Abraham Stoker. Thank you all, and I will return soon.

LOL! You should worry, you’ve been like that since the 1970s.

As I recall dissecting a starfish in some biology class once, I don’t recall seeing one. But then, maybe it was a girl starfish.

If you can’t grow one, buy a kit and make one. (I hope I helped somebody out with a last-time gift idea!)

This can’t be a ‘Love is….”, nobody has tagged every single word in the comic yet.
Excellent point, Doc.

I thought it had been about a month. I hope that he is all right. I like his comments, and miss them.

Buyer beware! Inspect your bleeep kit before you buy it. Sometimes there are missing or duplicate parts.

Runar, we have missed you. I thank Teresa for calling you today. Ambrose bierce, my absolute favorite curmudgeon!

I think Ambrose would not only approve of “FrogApplause”, but he would also approve of calling it “Oil Of Dog”!
