    Oh, that’s just loco to do the human justice system on an insect. As for the Buddhist statue compared to Lady Liberty, that’s amazing. Hot dogs’ namesake, I thought it was because it looked like the dog breed dachshund.

    I would not be surprised if hot dogs did have dog meat in them if you went to so parts of the world.

    I think the trial was just an excuse for catharsis by formalizing a demonstrative punishment. As for the statue, heh, it’s unusual to show Buddha standing, but when you’re going for height…

    No, the idea that some sports reporter could not spell Dachshund and thus named it Hot Dog is an apocrypha.. Or Urban Legend. Calling them Hot Dogs was in use before then.According to Snopes.com Hot Dog was first used to describe a well dressed man and became then also a term for the well beloved sausage in a bun.http://www.snopes.com/language/stories/hotdog.asp
