    Andy didn’t just “letter” in every sport, he four-lettered in all of them

    Leftovers from yesterday:

    @Linguist

    Vous avez absolument raison! C’est pourquoi votre interprétations de Andy sont plus drôles que les leurs. Votre humour est plus proche de Reg Smythe.Sorry Mikeyj for the formal French. My Québécoise is a little rusty. ( BTW that was my second language, after English – I grew up with a lot of French Canadians ^^NP, very well said, besides, while I have family in Quebec (on both sides), I was born and have lived in Ontario all my life, my French is mostly out of schoolbooks from France, spoken with an Ontario accent! :D lolps. TYVM; As someone who wanted to be a cartoonist since I was 7, I really appreciate that you think I come very close to Smythe , in my humour :)

    @jmcx4

    I speak French and English fluently… with a smattering of Japanese

    Mikeyj said, about 3 hours ago

    @FANOLIO

    @Number SixI loved The Jailbirds, looks like it would have great potential.BTW the Dummies book wasn’t meant for you ;-^^Me either, I hope! :p

    Mikeyj said, about 3 hours ago

    @2old2readcomics know it has been “universalized” but the humor is still there! Just enjoy it for what it is, a funny take on a lazy, beer sodden, bloke.

    ^^The humour is barely there at all

    @Hapi Rabbit TV: posted those yesterdai from Eldo library, and the right third-portion wasn’t there. There’s always ‘going analogue’ on the addy tho.

    Andy’s a Sport, no-doubt, despite, there being some [like aal those Florrie named] Andy can’t play due to a ban.sometimes the ban’s not-just as a Player tho:

    In some Sports Andy suffers a “bang” “ban” due to a technical glitch:

    Some Sports He’s NOT banned-from but welcomed-to: . . . . due to his esteemed expertise, doubtless. Deep wisdom. A pocket-of Wisdom, the Track sees-Him.

    Andy has problems with the refs in all sports, but it’s football where he shines…

    The joke wasn’t bad today but the art is still flatter than a board fence. Look at the “Pogo” by contrast, where there are so many things to look at in each panel!@Chalkie jYour boxing classic yesterday reminded me of a Benny Hill skit. Benny is a news announcer and he’s giving the result of a boxing match, where the champ was knocked out in the fourth round. “His manager said that he would have fought better, and lasted longer, if he’d have given up the smoking, the drinking, and the sex…….especially between the rounds!”

    Never seen this Bear before or don’t remember seeing this in 1972. I’m more-familiar with the Cold War Era stuff in B/W Paperback. Why buy a rutabaga we’re giving them away!

    @Number ThreeYou really should watch Mister Magoo’s version of “A Christmas Carol.” It’s one of the best of the ten or so versions I’ve seen over the years!

    @beviekI think the “Buddy Holly Story” is still running at the New Theatre Restaurant. He’s no Cindy Williams, of course, but if you’re ever up this way it’s a fun show to watch. (And the food is also quite nice…….)

    There is more drawing or art in one panel of a Pogo strip than a month of Andy Capp as done by the present team.

    Chalkie J how about Jimmy Durante at the beginning of that movie! Oh Gosh, I am laughing to myself now thinking about ALL the events in that movie! We used to watch it every New Year’s Eve. Haven’t for a while. Must do that this New Year’s! I can still see Dick Shawn on top of that ladder truck as they are dashing wildly through the streets.

    Jonathan Winters was SO SO FUNNY! Did you see The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming? Another good comedy, really good, but pales in comparison to Mad World.
