Sorry Beardo, but I’ve got to side with the bronze Neanderthal. It’s way too late in the summer for you to still be that pasty!

I’ve got to side with Beardo here. A tan is skin damage. It ages the skin and could lead to cancer later in life.

Many of the ladies i work with go to artificial tanning booths in the winter, and sun themselves in the summer. Admittedly, they look good now, but i think in a few years, they will look like Ronald Reagan……….

That’s the first thing I noticed too. I burn easily but am not quite as blinding as Beardo. He does seem to have a bit of a farmer’s tan, though.

I’m fair skinned, and spent my youth foolishly trying my hardest to get tan in the summers. Didn’t have tanning booths back then. As they years past I didn’t tan as much, but sure enough was diagnosed with Melanoma in my 40’s. After successfully beating it, I have stayed out of the sun since at now in my 60’s I look much younger than many of my peers. Can’t say enough about sun damage. STAY OUT OF IT!

After having two pre-cancerous moles removed from my back, I decided pale is the way to go. I was one of those kids who laid on the beach for hours, trying for the bronzed look, btw.

Yes, I may not sunbathe but I do go out in the sun, suitably dressed. My maternal grandmother, my mother and my father all died as a result of cancer. There is also epilepsy, multiple sclerosis in the family.
