You can’t go backwards with what if, you’ll never really know. Move forwards with what if to find out, go to Art School Opal, turn off that hearing aide Earl!
My dad used to sit on the couch and turn off his hearing aid and fall asleep. When he’d wake up, he’d turn it back on and sit on the couch with his eyes closed and just listen to what was going on.
My dad wore a hearing aid…funny how sharp his hearing was when you muttered something derogatory that he wasn’t supposed to hear—while if you were asking him for help or telling him something mom said, it was, “Hah? Can’t hear you!”

Reminds me of a “Stone Soup” a few days ago. Evie blabs and blabs whereas Val has earplugs.

I’ve found " what if’s ," can be exhausing and doesn’t change a single thing.

She’ll go on and on, even if she has to use semaphore flags. It’s called “communicating.”

What if the Rogaine had worked? What if you mistook Earl for the cat?

The older you get the more “what if’s” there are. Maybe Earl ought to start overlapping Opal’s “what if’s” with some of his own.

Ah, yes… Apparently Earl has been married for a while. He’s learned the secret of “inside words”.

“Cat talk”? Seriously?? Two things: “Feed me” and “What can I kill now?”
