rj: what are you doing? verne: I'm removing the splinter. rj: Arne't you going to knock me out first? verne: oh, right. hammy....apply the anesthetic! rj: want me to start counting backward from 100? Verne: that won't be necessary.
Like most forms of anesthetic, Hammy’s “medication” has to be administered carefully. Not enough and it won’t be effective, too much might kill the patient. Isn’t it amazing how similar being anesthetized with a baseball bat is to being anesthetized with the real thing?
I have to tell the anestheologist that I am claustrophobic. They put me to sleep first with whatever they put in the IV and then go from there. No problems, whatsoever.

I’ve never had a general anesthetic. I do not think I’d handle it well.
