Not sure in End Town, but here the media has way too much they say that they shouldn’t say.The news is a combination of what really is and what commentators Say it is. Doesn’t have to make sense even and that is the truly scary part.
Dottie: “Well, I don’t like it. If Jake can play that game, then I can play it too. I’ll sabotage his sabotage! And Walt will prove for me that I’m right!”
Dottie seems to know exactly what happened.Unless she managed to talk to Allgood before he was killed or was briefed by Aaron, I don’t see how she can be so dead-on with her understanding of the situation.
As I said yesterday : power behind the power. Reminds me of an old Tamminy Hall cartoon. But if Philosophy puts his argument on to JJs “humble” approach, then his system can be sabotaged too. I’m willing to bet JJs straw man will be Walter. Well known, popular, figurehead. But if he tries to go that way, Walter may surprise him. Especially with Dottie around….unless Sortie was “removed”?
I see Philo Foxworthy says “if” Jake sabotaged it. Dottie’s thesis, drawn and built from knowing Jake Jackrabbit and what he’s capable of, lacks one thing—-proof.
Jake, as a media manipulator of facts and opinions, is apparently trying to set himself up as a unanimously and democratically elected dictator-for-life for the good of all Endtown mutants. Thing is, I think AM will make another appearance and see that Jake is unceremoniously brushed aside for a more ethical person to assume control of management of the resulting system… Insert, Walter!
What the editor in chief says does make good sense. Let the people decide. If anything put it all out there and let Endtown know. I will hedge however that Marx will not be mentioned as a contributor to the new democracy. His last promise to Flask was to protect and help Endtown. This is just one step. I imagine Jacob is on a short leash and does not even know it.
The problem with Dottie writing an editorial is that while she KNOWS that Jacob did it, she lacks evidence to prove that this is the case. I have the impression that Foxworthy would never allow that sort of unfounded accusation to make it into print. He circular filed one of Jacob’s pieces on Al and Gustine. Publishing an unproven accusation against the hero of the day could be dangerous. She definitely needs to get with Walter on this.
Hey, they could use One Potato, Two potato.Short straw draw. Rock Paper Scissors. Wouldn’t that be like the Star Trek episode, The Alternative Factor, where the matter guy and the anti-matter guy fight it out for all eternity?

There’s only one solution. Run the editorials, hold the elections—-elect somebody else.

I hope Dottie’s ticket isn’t the next to get punched.

Can I run my editorial on the Pros of a Thunderdome-based Judicial System? It’s very efficient, and cuts out a lot of political interference.

Jacob has “groupies”??? Must be glad he’s a rabbit.

There may be a solid reason for why Dottie thinks Jake was behind the HC’s behavior – the rock thrower that Walt collared talked while behind bars…

There are times when I’m drawn towards her first name, Philomena — especially as it can be corrupted to Pillowmena.

Democracy is three wolves and a sheep voting on lunch. Endtown had anonymous wolves. ANY system, even a direct tyranny, would be better than this.
