Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for August 27, 2013
August 26, 2013

Transcript:
Janis: Did you leave Ludwig outside?
Janis: There are a lot of juvenile birds out there this time of year!
Janis: He'll take advantage of them if he gets a chance!
What I’ve always liked about Ludwig is he normally behaves like a real cat. Today he’s just another cartoon cat – walking upright like Garfield and Heathcliff.
While I’m here …. whatever happened to Gene and his new family? Why don’t we see them anymore or even have mention of them anymore?
I have a buttermilk colored cat. He goes out and slinks across the green lawn and brown bark dust, thinking the birds can’t see him. He might as well have a neon sign above him declaring “Cat Here! Cat Here!”
I agree too! Why not some new strips about Gene and his family if Mr. Johnson can’t make fun of Arlo and Janis anymore. The last really funny strips were all about Luddie.Arlo and Janis seem to be wrung out – finished.
Keep the faith. Gene will be back. Life moves in mysterious channels for Arlo and Janis. In a strip that ran several weeks back, Janis herself expressed a wish to know how Gene was doing.

Hardly run it’s course. Now JJ how about an adult themed Arlo and Janis book. Mix in all the ol’ bathroom stuff with some new.

Their cat used to be just a cat. Now it is morphing into Garfield before our very eyes. One Garfield in the comics is enough.

“Taking advantage of juvenile birds” takes on a different meaning in British English.

Too late Janis.

Did the birds have pool cues too? They could not possible win at pool, they have wings, not limbs.

Woodstock did.

I was expecting not a pool-cue case, but a violin case — but that may be too old a cliche.

He’s street busker playing clarinet and those are his tips? I must be missing the joke.
