Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for August 22, 2013

Phoebe can’t keep her mind on the here and now, always looking to the future. Never on were she is or what she’s doing. Marigold, always thinking “Im a unicorn and your not” Well its better then having the mind of a cat who thinks all day “Im a cat and I don’t care what you do” or a dog who just thinks “feed me feed me..squirrel..” or being a seagull who just thinks “mine mine mine” Though Marigold’s one track “Me me me” does more often now acknowledge the existence of an other creature whom she cares about who is not her self. Still, like I said last time Marigold can no more speak of school then phoebe can of finding a perfect lawn. There’s just no way to relate.

I have read that humans is the only animal that thinks about the future, and the only ones that worry themselves sick thinking about it.

If only humans worry about the future, than why do animals build nests?

Is the problem with humans, they don’t think in the here and now.

It’s not going to change when you’re going to college, sad to say.

Phoebe will probably start thinking of Christmas break as soon as school starts.

When your a kid you always think of the future, it never comes fast enough. When your old you always think of the past and realize just how fast things were moving.

Sorry Phoebe.

A whole lifetime of trying to be in the hear and now, and I’m still getting it wrong.How can you expect a child to do better?

You don’t have to think about where you are right now… Just look around and there it is.
