I was hoping to see the ‘reunion’ at the farm today! That’s gonna’ be a big heap of action!

Actually, that should be written “Duesy”, short for Duesenberg, a brand of hyper expensive, amazingly engineered cars; after that, anything that seemed to say “Wow, that’s amazing/expensive” became known as a Duesy… people still use the expression, but, most people have no idea what it means.

Tomorrow will probably Sparkle and MM2 having a little “discussion” :P

SInce Diet Smith is still talking shop with Dr. Ghote, who was that Dr. Ghote that Sail was talking to a few days ago?Remember, we cut from Diet Smith and Dr. Ghote shaking hands on the 3rd, and on the 6th, there was Ghote, learning from Sail that Mysta can be tracked. Now he’s back with Smith, speaking as though the conversation never ended. And we were told yesterday that there was a recording device inside the moon’s eye in the movie poster hanging in the Apollo.Coould the Dr. Ghote talking with Sail be Putty Puss?If the Apparatus could employ B-B Eyes and Co., why not hire Putty Puss to double up (intended pun) for Ghote, and find out what the Consortium is up to (including planting a camera)?Man, Mike’s thrown more curve balls than Nolan Ryan!

Gosh, I just realized – with all that’s going on at the Wheaton farm, we still have no idea what the Consortium’s “Lunar Event” really is, and why they want Mysta! Could that be the next story? Or will the next story be a gang war between the Consortium and the Apparatus?I know, I know, one story at a time, three panels a day…

I’m wondering if Junior’s going to have a close encounter of the third kind with a certain alien chick we know and love.

I am just as eager as Diet is to have his question answered by Dr. Ghote (or Ghote.2, whichever). There is, however, the matter of whether or not any answer Ghote gives will be truthful. His allegiances seem rather ambivalent.

Ok, there’s the pending ‘fight at Wheaton corral’, Dr. Ghote’s big reveal,(and is this Ghote a ‘copy Ghote’?) but I’m still wondering where the Moon people are. (have they come to Earth in disguise ? Could they be behind the Consortium? the Apparatus? ) Many many questions…

Am I the only who has noticed that Junior has avoided all the women in his life including Honeymoon over the past few weeks? At he has avoided them “on screen.”

Finally, the answer we have all been waiting for. Who or what is the Moon Babe?

My mom got me a silver Duesenberg Avon decanter with aftershave sometime in the mid 70’s. Lost it during a move. Wish I still had it. What a car!

I’m finding it bizarre that to this day, Junior has not even spoken to his former wife Mysta. Don’t you think Junior would be the first person to speak with her? Seems very cold to me.

After all these months, and we’re still speculating over the question of Mysta’s identity. It goes to show you what a good story teller Mike Curtis is, and how completely hooked we are on this story, and especially on Moon Maid. Honestly, now that the story’s drawing to a conclusion, I’m more anxious about the thought of Mysta disappearing from the strip than anything else. She’s such a great character and is obviously very popular with the fans. They wouldn’t bump her off a 2nd time, would they? I really hope they give Mysta a permanent and even prominent role going forward.

What is she? Simply one of the very best characters to ever grace the Dick Tracy strip. It is clear that the award winning team of Staton and Curtis are experts when it comes to wonderful characters and complex, satisfying stories. My money is on Mysta being back for good.

I called it before and I’ll call it again: Ghote is the clone!.Hope that’s not gloating over the Ghote!.One thing for sure: Whatever Mysta is; whatever Ghote says she is, she isn’t!

Zy Ghote Lite: Assuming Ghote is the clone actually makes some of what Sail said make sense..Early on, Ghote claimed credit for doing the “grunt work” of this project. Sail has since questioned Ghote’s contributions. And why not? Ghote may have thought he was cloning Moon Maid but the project in the bottom of his little test tubes may well have been Sail’s clone of him (Ghote)!.tsull2121: Kind of glad you chimed in on that one, but probably not for the reason you think..As one who still holds out hope that this is, indeed, the original Mysta the Moon Maid, your feelings toward her are well documented. Deceiving, conniving, lying, are a few of the words you have used to describe her..Victim of circumstance, I call her on most accounts. And I’ve even grown to forgive her for the one truly over-the-top thing she did – the infamous Sparkle Zap..I mean, what would you do if you were in her shoes?.Back to the story..Clearly, at this point in time, everything you have ever said about Mysta is, in fact, what Ghote has been doing all along – to Diet and Mysta!.And his pal, Sail, is even worse!.In the past, I have been called on for not considering Mysta a sympathetic character. That has all changed..Yes, I still hope she is the “real deal,” but I also consider that, even if Mike and Joe tell it otherwise, good grief! Just what has this poor woman been put through?.Beyond the obvious, loss of moon family, loss of earth family, near death experience, unexplained operations, held as prisoner, and I’m sure you guys can add to this list!

Maybe Sail’s whole plan is to steal a space coupe and con Diet Smith out of investing big bucks in Ghote. The mention and smell of the money opened mine eyes.

I’m worried about Nellie. Where is she?

It does seem confusing that Ghote is seen alongside Dr. Sail and at the same time holding a conversation in Diet Smith’s office.

Perhaps both Ghote’s we see are duplicates and the original Ghote is already dead, killed by Sail or Melies. We may actually be dealing with two Ghote “more than clones.”

If Ghote DID perfect the science to create “more than clones” as was indicated to Diet Smith, how many copies of cloned individuals could be made? Is Moon Maid the only copy? Is Ghote a clone? If so, is he the only copy?

How about the origin of the word Yahoo?

I realize I was wrong with my Putty Puss guess. Ghote really has come up with a way of copying people – and (true to the code of all Mad Scientists) tried it out on himself.He’s not a clone, a replicant or an android – he’s a Xerox!

Before the scene with Ghote talking to Sail as they were terrorizing Mysta over the phone, I had surmised that Ghote Original Recipe was already dead at the hands of Melies in his rather grand entrance….I am still thinking that the original Ghote was duped, thinking he was cloning (or whatever it is they did) Mysta, only to be helping Sail to clone himself (Ghote) – your (Ray’s) juicy tidbit is that maybe all Ghotes we see from now on are clones!.We still don’t know how Mysta survived the car bomb. We don’t have any credible evidence that she survived, but this entire storyline seems to have been generated to remove credibility from everyone’s belief that she, in fact, died..In the meantime, Mysta has been given depth of character, a depth of character so far totally lacking in any of the new “baddies” that have been introduced – Sail, Ghote versions 3.1 and 3.2, even Retik, Stellaluna, and moon face..All we know about moon face is that he entered the scene with Sail and Ghote with gun already drawn – which is, as far as I’m concerned, the scene where Ghote died..What a Ghote rope this turned out to be!

And also, to Ray Toler, did you notice that Popeye is doing a running story on the Jeep? Don’t know if Go Comics is running it, but Seattle PI is. Swee-Pea is hiding Jeep from the Sea Hag by disguising him as another baby and, so far, no one can tell who he is, not Olive, not the Sea Hag, not even Popeye!.In this story, Olive has been given a rather dark side, being greedy for Jeep’s nose for gold – and Wimpy sells out to the Sea Hag in order to capture the Jeep!.It’s kind of fun, and I thought you might like to know about it.

I think the Ghote talking to Diet Smith is very true to his original purpose – a scientific breakthrough to make copies of people.And so is the Ghote talking to Sail – not happy that Sail’s crooked connections have hurt his chance at redemption.

They’re not actually going to tell us the Big Secret tomorrow, are they? They’re gonna make us waaaaiiiiit some more.

Never mind. I’ll be checking in to see, anyway.

Not only are we not going to find out what or who Mysta is tomorrow (in my opinion), I’m sure that we have to get back to the action at the farm, so we’ll be in suspense a while longer.
