My mother once set up the bunk beds in my and my brother’s room so that the beds were basically in the middle of the room, and I had a little study area on the other side of the beds. Very good for doing a “Dukes of Hazzard” maneuver to get back and forth, although my brother (whose bedding was constantly messed up as a result) was not amused.
