Linus and Sally stand in the grass. Linus points at Sally and says, "You think no one believes in the 'Great Pumpkin' don't you?"<BR><BR> Linus continues, "Well, Peppermint Patty does! Right this moment she's sitting in a pumpkin patch waiting for the 'Great Pumpkin' to appear!"<BR><BR> Linus points at Sally and says, "She's not like you! She doesn't call the 'Great Pumpkin' a myth and a legend!"<BR><BR> Sally stands alone and asks, "How about a lie and a fraud?"<BR><BR>

Yes, Linus, Sally is right—a lie and a fraud! Anyway, for one thing, The Great Pumpkin is solely YOUR creation, and YOURS ALONE, while Santa Claus, on the other hand, really IS traditional folklore, handed down from generation to generation! We know you really did pattern the Great Pumpkin after Santa; even if the Great Pumpkin does “try harder, being number two,” Santa Claus REALLY DOES have MORE PUBLICITY, being REALFOLKLORE!
