Charlie Brown points to a heart drawn on a chart.<BR><BR> Resting on a tree, Peppermint Patty turns to Charlie and remarks, "You know what I don't understand, Chuck? I don't understand love." Charlie comments, "Who does?"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty says, "Explains love to me, Chuck." Charlie says, "You can't explain love.."<BR><BR> Charlie says, "I can recommend a book, or a painting, or a song, or a poem, but I can't explain love."<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty says, "Try, Chuck! Try to explain love.." Charlie says, "Well, say I happen to see this cute girl walk by, and I.."<BR><BR> Peppermint asks, "Why does she have to be cute, Chuck? Can't someone fall in love with a girl who isn't cute, and has freckles and a big nose?"<BR><BR> Angry, Peppermint screams, "Explain that, Chuck!!"<BR><BR> Chuck responds, "Well, maybe you're right.. Let's just say, then, that I happen to see this girl walk by who has a great big nose and ..."<BR><BR> Peppermint, even more furious, screams, "I didn't say a great big nose, Chuck!!" She blows Charlie off the ground.<BR><BR> Charlie lies on the ground and comments, "You not only can't explain love.. Actually, you can't even talk about it.."<BR><BR>

This was adapted into “It’s Arbor Day, Charlie Brown” and the stage musical “Snoopy!!!”.
