I haven’t watched anything on Space (the Canadian equivalent of Siffy) in a long time. They don’t run quality science fiction movies or series any more, and just carry worthless ultra-low-budget garbage. (Any channel that shows “Sharknado” doesn’t deserve to exist!)

I know that I am the only person who thinks this…but “Farscape” was 50x better than “Firefly”.

The pilot episode piqued my interest; by the end of the second episode (Crichton gets to play the part E.T.), I knew it was something special. As I watched a band of squabbling misfits become a family in the first season, I realized it really was the best show ever.

I think the only time I’ve watched the SiFi channel is when they do a “Twilight Zone” marathon.

Sophie from Dog Eat Doug had it right – the SciFi channel is run by lobotomized cats.

I never liked the Sci-Fi channel or how they did things. For instance, many years ago they advertised that they were going to run Max Headroom reruns, which I was looking forward to since I missed that show when it first aired. They showed the first episode…then cancelled it. The last straw for me was when years ago they ran Star Trek OS, and they chopped the scenes shorter in each episode to fit in more advertising time than the show allowed when it originally ran in the ’60’s.

Have Farscape on DVD and Firefly on BluRay, so a marathon is available anytime. Too bad they were cancelled.

I’m just miffed they cancelled Stargate Universe. I’m still quite convinced that show was on the verge of something profound and great. But isn’t that just how it is with Scyfy these days? They seem to think the good stuff is garbage, and the bad stuff as infallible. Sometimes it feels like It’s nothing short of a miracle they’re even still up and running.

I really liked Warehouse 13, but it’s the only thing I did like.Although Stargate SG-1 was not created by Sci-Fi, it had it’s longest run there. It was and still is my favorite sci-fi series ever.

“Sci-Fi” was changed to (ugh!) “Sy-Fy” in an epically lame attempt to bring in more female viewers. Apparently that “decision” included less sci-fi,and more so-called “female friendly” programs which include the sea of reality drek they air today. I still want to know where’s the “sci-fi” in WWE Smackdown?

Maybe so, but I think they were among the first to do it. I’m not new to reruns, and their treatment of ST-OS was the first time I noticed it done.

Never saw Farscape, but still mourn the loss of Firefly. Awesome cast, beautiful production, and a story we will never know. (Unless Joss Whedon suddenly becomes open about all the stories he’d like to tell some day; we may have to wait until he retires.)

SciFi channel is dead. It’s now the wrestling and garbage channel with a couple exceptions. You can thank NBC-Universal for this
