    I had several of the early chess computers. One thing you could always count on them to do was accept sacrifices, which allowed me to get a lot of very pretty mating attacks going.

    My nephew was an avid chess player. One day he and a chess teammate were discussing moves in his hallway:

    Chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.

    Upon hearing my pun, my sister asked, “And just how many years were you waiting for that to come up?”

    No, they are now Super Grandmaster strength. Recently, I saw that the programmer of one of the strongest chess engines offered to have it give anyone in the world pawn odds. No-one has accepted.
