Holly seems to find safety in Wally backpack. Not the first time she’s been in that backpack. Looks like our favorite couple is going topside for a while at least.
I hope she has something to wear up there other than the waitress dress. For some reason I am picturing a cross between the movie picture of Goldie Hawn in “Private Benjamin” and Bugs Bunny in the cartoon where he gets drafted.
Well look at it this way. Holly is hidden. Wally did say it was for TWO. Linda could tag along BUT I think there would be issues. Holly has to get over the treatment she got from Linda when she was a Topsider. Not too much at one time. And mr_sherman what bets its the waitress clothes. Unless Wally stopped at Macy’s that seemed to be all she wore. I like the one remark she is wearing a knapsack with a cat accessory…that was funny cute.Really sounds like my other part…..you want to think about this for a min……………where did you go? HONK HONK “I’m in the car let’s go slowpoke!”
Holly does need some other clothes. She must be awfully tired of wearing that dress for 6 years or so. Maybe they can find a discarded rat uniform. Her legs would be too long but otherwise, it would be a lot more protective of,say, knees.
Wally must be a pretty fit catman. I know Holly’s a mouse woman but even so that’s a good amount of weight to be backpacking PLUS their supplies. Wally’s diesel! LOL! :)
One of the things I like about this story is how you can rarely predict exactly how things will go but when they do happen, the result seems somehow to be just what you would have expected.
A zip in time saves… • Getting busted on an indecency charge • Falling out at in inopportune moment • Having breezes in all the wrong places • Having to face a world you don’t ever want to see again • Having to deal with all of the discharge paperwork • Having to listen to warnings you don’t care about anymore • Wally from seeing how beat up she still is
Holly has a discharge? Don’t forget to stop by Doc’s and get some tablets. No, he would advise against leaving, I think. Keep a Sharp’s eye for a 6 foot tall rat on a walkabout.
Some lines from Roger Waters Amused to Death seem good as to where they would go or look for.Perfect Sense Part 1The President’s a foolWhy do I have to keep reading these technical manualsAnd the Joint Chiefs of StaffAnd the brokers on Wall Street saidDon’t make us laugh, you’re a smart kidTime is LinearHistory’s for foolsMan is a tool in the hands of the Great God AlmightyAnd they gave him command of a nuclear submarine and sent him back in searchOf the Garden of Eden.
Not a critique of the strip, but a general question about the common gimmick in all kinds of narritives, of an individual closes eyes/spaces out to comment and things happen around him/her for a surprise. Does anyone actually DO that? Or is it just a bit of dramatic stupid to let things happen? In this instance, its a cute little progression in the story, but I see the same sort of thing used to death for all kinds of absurd situations.
Wally could always produce a new outfit for Holly with claws and a bedsheet; that was good enough to get out of the hospital the last time.I knew Holly would accept Wally’s offer. The beauty of Aaron’s creativity is her acceptance in the dynamic Holly fashion that makes her such a delight in the strip.Whoohoo! Epic journey!
People closing their eyes for more than an instant when they speak? Really? Wow. (seriously, it seems like a really “why would anyone do that, don’t they want to maintain contact and visual feedback” kind of thing) I just thought it was a dramatic convention. Really.

I wonder how many times in the next few months (of strips) she’ll regret this decision…..at least making it so quick….

I’m pretty sure there’s a law against walking the streets with a rucksack of naked mouse, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

I agree firedome, that’s the expression of a man with a naked woman in his backpack.

There can be no question about it. Wally’s girlfriend is one FAST woman. Is that a good thing or a bad thing when it comes to a girlfriend?

she spends so much time in a bag you’d think she was turned into a yorkshire terrier rather than a mouse…
