Hmm, this could be a really good thing. Wally knows where the supply pantry is, as well as the weapons locker. And the elevators Topside are self-controlled. If the rats won’t “lift a finger”, then they won’t stop them from taking all the supplies they want, first.

The rats have gotten sullen. They don’t seem to be eager to help. I don’t really blame them.

Okay, Wally, you’re a survivalist engineer. You have to get past the guards and operate the elevator, and all you have is a wad of gum, a credit card and a ball of ditto invisibility.

Even during the apocalypse… when your entire job is in shambles… the bosses have all been fired… and yet you’re supposed to keep the one free town safe and secure… you can still get your union-mandated smoke break. Truly it isn’t that bad after all.

Wally hasn’t really done much for the last five months (Endtown time). Maybe fixing this problem will get him back in the practice of instead of sitting around.

I was afraid that would happen. The entire security network protecting Endtown is down. Foragers may be stuck up there as there is no one in command to let folks in or out.TSOJ: I would imagine the place up there requires security to operate. Entry codes followed by verification codes. The system is designed to be secure with or without help. So just punching buttons yourself will probably not work. It would be really bad to go up on the elevator without consulting the Dust Crawlers and coming up in the middle of a Topsider Hunting Patrol. “Excuse me, we are just leaving” will probably not be shall we say “acceptable”.Of course these two are just drone rats….finding Lt Rat would help. Now with the Rats not wanting to stop folks now would be a good time to wander about and check things out. Maybe a review of the security cameras? Find the one where you see Marx and Jacob working together and Jacob’s admission on camera with sound to Allgood that HE set up the whole thing just to get the system taken down so HE could be in charge.Getting Lt Rat to say this was all set up will not work as no one below trusts the Rats. Jacob set it up that way. But does he remember the cameras. Of course WHERE IS VELDA?

That would be good if it happened. Jacob gives his acceptance speech as the TV shows him telling Allgood the whole plan for everything that happened was HIS idea. That is the way Jacob would be the best thing to happen to Endtown. Here is how the old way worked. You were lead like sheep by charm and charisma. Your whole world was destroyed by folks like Jacob, you want that again?? You were snake charmed by a Rabbit bent on leading you all back to the way it was before the war. You want to lose Endtown the same way.Return back to the way it was set up in Endtown.Just pay attention next time.

I would imagine Jacob has no need for them. He never thought of that or what to do with them after he defeated Allgood. His only interest was taking down the High Council and creating a new government with him as leader THEN he will decide if all the Rats should shoot themselves in the head. They were left leaderless and this shows me there was nothing in their Manual about this kind of thing. If there are no controls for coming and going this could be really bad. Like I posted….you go up the elevator and find yourself standing between a bunch of Topsiders. I don’t think they will buy the fact you are leaving. Even if Holly and Wally are covered by dittos the elevator is there for all to see like a lighthouse beacon. The cobalt nuke would soon be delivered or they take the ride down and meet no resistance except two Rats smoking soon to be powder.

You know, Wally could always point out how he’s getting tired of beans and would like some fresh meat for a change, and he’s a cat and they’re rats….. ;-)

What’s funny about panel 1 is that it’s like Wally is voicing my reaction as well about having to face a bunch of gun-happy rats.

I’d muster up some sympathy for the rats, but they made their own beds when they acted like a bunch of gun toting psychopaths.
