I love how they think!It’s not that the rats are evil-bad, they just don’t want to be punished anymore for someone else’s agenda.They do want to do their jobs, and they are trying to help Wally and Holly get out. What they need is protection against any repercussions that may arise later, either because they did their jobs without approval, or didn’t do them because there wasn’t approval.

It does disturb me a bit that they think being threatened with a grenade is better than with a gun.

Hm, I think there is an emergency purge System to move possible threats to the surface as fast as possible. This would be very fitting to explosives, more than to a threat by gun.And as it is with emergency Systems, they’re easy and fast to operate.
