We have a cat who has been known to hunt squirrels on more than one occasion. He once horrified a pair of kittens we had by placing a dead squirrel in front of the cat door. They were so scared of it that they wouldn’t go out until we moved it.
I just have to laugh at the “Acornland” thinking of the deadly earnest of our one dog in taking offense at the very IDEA that squirrels would breathe the air of our backyard. Sorry…HIS backyard. Acornland would send him over the edge, but I know that the squirrels sit up in the trees chattering at him as he bounces around the base. I once thought I saw one with popcorn.
Our cats were city cats, when we moved up here they saw squirrels for the first time. THEN they found out that squirrels chased them back. Never bothered one again!
