This isn’t about legalizing illegal immigration. This is about natural born US citizens and the efforts of others to deny their citizenship.

No habla loco. Please translate.

The usual justification is that undocumented immigrants are cynically producing children for the sole purpose of having “anchor babies.” Because bleeding heart liberals don’t want to a) separate families or b) send US citizens who don’t speak their parents’ home country language into exile.

And therefore, say the kind of people who hate undocumented immigrants who don’t look or talk like them, if we render these children non-citizens, that loophole will be closed. If children who don’t speak Spanish or Somali or Hmong didn’t want to be exiled to a country where that’s the main language, they should have been born to US citizens!

As you might guess, I’m not too keen on this.

@simpsonfan2 – READ the Constitutional amendment, moron; the section refers to NEGROS born in the US of imported SLAVES before and during the Civil War! NOT Illegal Aliens SINCE the Civil War! Too many of you are Constitutional Twits that talk with ZERO knowledge of the Constitution!

I’ve read it. It days NOTHING about “Negroes” and exluding everyone else. Try again, scalia.

Most of our European ancestors came and stayed “illegally” – ie., without the permission of the inhabitants. But our law says that if you are born here, you’re a citizen. Deal with it.

Yeah, and “Politically Correct” is the catchall phrase the right wing uses to attack anything it doesn’t like. That and “reverse racism,” which is that odd twist of fate when the law does something to a white guy that it usually does to blacks or hispanics.
