The movement was too slow and steady for a rat, but I couldn’t identify what. Soon a white face with a pink nose peered out. Identity was obvious. Leaving the door open, but otherwise not disturbing Pogo, it soon left.
Months later, my wife announced, with tones of “do something!” that “There’s a dead possum in our yard.” My instinctive reply was, “Are you sure?” It was.

Just watched the Bela Lugosi “Dracula” after many years. In scenes meant to show rats, it seems opossums were used.
