one of life's best coping mechanisms is to know the difference between an inconvenience and a problem. If you break your neck, if you have nothing to eat, if your house is on fire, then you've got a problem. Everything else is an inconvenience. Life is inconvenient. Life is lumpy. A lump in the oatmeal...a lump in the throat... and a lump in the breast... are not the same kind of lump. One needs to learn the difference. -Robert Fulghum

her anger cause her lump.

Well, then, she should just wait and die, right? After all, that would seem do be what God would deem a just punishment, by your “logic”.
Keith Kunz: of the four women friends of mine who have died of breast cancer over the last fifteen years, none of them were particularly angry. One, in fact, was one of the more peaceful people I’ve ever known. Your “logic” is just as suspect as Josh Lyons, if not more so.

Learn to ignore idiots. They are everywhere.

Agree with all but the two first posters. But would like to add that men too are susceptible to breast cancer though it is a much smaller population.

Thanks, Veteran, for pointing out the lesson to those who chose not to see it…. “learn to know the difference.”

For all those whose lives have been affected by cancer, my condolences. I’m sure you or your loved ones suffered greatly. I agree that disease is not used as a punishment from God.
I bet Keith, Josh, et.al. also believe Aids is a punishment on certain groups of people. Just plain ignorant.
Finally, thanks Zen Pencils for a thought provoking comic.

The lady in the strip has the wrong attitude and she is perhaps sealing her fate with her negative reaction. Never underestimate the power of the mind on the body. Unfortunately there is such a stigma with the word cancer (media/Dr hype) many people shut down their defences upon hearing the word. Imagine if that energy were to be channelled properly!
