I always took vacation time during the Winter Olymics so I could watch during the day. Wonderful.
Love the year it snowed so much in Japan, made the tv guys really go looking for neat, fabulous sites to show when the sport was snowed out/in = whichever.
I think the Winter Olympics will get a lot more popular, despite the dumbing-down of US network TV (to emphasize “up close and personal” profiles of athletes who used to live in cabins with outhouses, over anything to do with sports) … because now there are multiple affiliate networks, and only the “audience” (as opposed to fans) who are more interested in Bob Costas’s sentiments than in athletes’ achievements will watch regular NBC. For the rest of us, there’s plenty of other action-packed competition on the cable and internet channels the NBC crew is also feeding.
I can’t wait. I might even see some Swiss compete! That stirs my blood, so to speak.

I like the 12 minutes of competition they show every hour

And the 48 minutes of ads are somewhat interesting.

So the professor doesn’t want to be an athletic supporter.
