Even the animals in the funeral procession were perfume! A pheasant in Tenby, West Wales, brought mail service to a halt for several weeks after repeatedly attacking the postman! In 1949, baseball great Joe DiMaggio became the first ballplayer to sign a contract for $100,000 a year!
