At least that dog gets to go outside. I pity dogs and cats that spend their entire lives cooped up in a house, or worse, apartment.

If you have a normal sized yard and a small dog, they don’t need to be out in the world. Little dogs can slip collars, harnesses and are just bait for bigger dogs(and worse, cats).

Get over it. Grab a shovel and dispose of the offending stuff. The dog is doing what we all do but he is forced to do it outside wherever he/she can. For real fun save the “load” and wait for the owner to come by again. Show it to the dummy. That dog owner will never let it happen at your house again.

A fenced yard sure beats being chained to a tree, doghouse or whatever.

On the one hand, I would argue that dogs need to be confined by fences or leashes for their own safety – in car vs. dog encounters, I’ve never heard of the dog winning. But on the other hand, when I’ve visited countries that have no leash laws and have dogs wandering about without restraint, they seem far better adjusted than dogs here – very relaxed, no barking, etc. Don’t know what percentage wind out being killed by cars, though…

As far as gated communities for people, why would anybody other than a celebrity possibly want that? I like having my neighborhoods interconnected, being able to walk everywhere, etc. Gated communities – blech!

Have you ever tried to walk a cat on a leash?

Just because the dog lives behind a fence doesn’t mean its owner never takes his dog out for walks.

I think the cartoon was referring to pounds or pet shops.
