Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed history in the making: the very first fart in a syndicated newspaper comic strip.

That’s fast-acting applesauce!

I’m more concerned about apple sauce that you need to chomp on.

Jeremy Duncan in the “Zits” strip (not carried here) farted in the phone to a telemarketer some years ago. And some nameless old guy “honked” on the sidewalk in “Frazz”.

Now when it becomes a Croc / Penguin Fart Joke …

…and when they had a fart scene in ‘Blazing Saddles’, the censors in the US edited out the sound effect- and left the scene in!!!!!

RE: BLAZING SADDLES:They DID edit out the fart noises on the TV version (as well as silencing most of the profanity). The thing that’s funny, but only if you knew about it, was they replaced the fart noises with horse whinnying noises.I know this from the DVD Commentary.

But it was not too bad. they also added a couple of extra really funny scenes with Bart vs. Mongo that weren’t in the theatrical release.

The 12 year old in me had a great chuckle over that one. Thanks, Stephan!

and oddly enough, while they dropped the “offending” sound effects from that scene, the tv broadcasts still included the N word throughout the movie. That never made sense to me.

Where are we going, and why are we in this handbasket?

farts are funny. Bluto farted once and almost killed Max Fleischer.
