Elderly men in my S. European city are not only averse to changing their clothes, but also to using deoderant—they think it harms the skin. At 8 AM on a hot summer morning, they tend to leave scent trails behind them as they walk past on the street…always make me think of Charlie Brown’s Pig Pen!

Earl should do what I do, buy at least a week’s worth of the same type of shirts and pants. Not only is it convenient, but it drives my wife crazy. .Her: “Don’t you want me to buy you something different?”Me: “Why? This way I don’t have to waste time deciding what to wear each day.”Her: “Don’t people think it’s strange?”Me: “Who cares what people think? They can buy clothes for me if it bothers them so much.”

If they don’t smell and they’re not dirty, they are still clean, especially for just wearing around the house. I hang up things that I wear out for only a couple of hours or so—like church clothes—and get many wearings out of them before they need to be laundered.

I used to hang up my church clothes after I got home and then wear them on Monday to work. My husband wears the same clothes for 2 days and it makes me nuts because he walks 6 miles a day and I know they are sweaty. I am always complaining about them, I mean they don’t smell like BO but they do smell sour…..yuk. Give it up Opal, it won’t do any good, I know.

When I worked part time DOC office Receptionist, I would make sure my clothes clean, after two years no job, I was let go after 9 years then position closed out due to budget cuts, I wear my clothes each day for a few days, except undies tmi,I feel what difference does it make. Church clothes still fresh I hang up.

That’s funny because Opal wears that same poka-dot dress every day.

You pass an old couple at the grocery store and he has a fragrance reminiscent of the zoo, can’t help wondering if they’ve both lost their sense of smell.

My husband tries that. I keep telling him I’m not his mother, I shouldn’t have to tell him to change his clothes, it should just be something he does!

Jeans can be worn for a few days, but shirts get changed at least once a day, some days 3x
