The problem with the “trivia quiz” episodes isn’t merely the lame TV sitcom jokes (or lame vaudeville jokes, or lame ancient and I DO mean ancient Greek jokes), it’s that Andy and Chalkie simply would never waste their time in a pub answering trivia in the first place! Excellent classics, though (and one of my all-time favorites is the one with Andy’s mum being the only one to be served before Andy!) I’ll check back later, hoping for more classics, and Linda Dean’s animal posts, and “Hollywood Squares” by Sandfan, and anything Mikeyj or Number Six would care to share with us. I still miss Buggerlugs and his “Pogo” posts. I wonder if he would take a bribe to start posting them again…..
@ AffiYour mantle is beautiful, and so is the tilework! You would be hired in an instant to do that over here in the U.S.I have a silly question about Malta. Are Maltese dogs really from there? Did the breed originate there?simple minds just need simple answers…yes or no will do…lol…
I hope you know you made me check my library. While I have The Grapes of Wrath, Tortilla Flats, Of Mice and Men and East of Eden, I found that I do not have Cannery Row or its mate, Sweet Thursday. I have rectified that now, and Amazon swears it will ship promptly Monday and yes, I requested expedited shipping so it shouldnt be long before they arrive and I am turning pages.(I also bought the latest Virgil Flowers book – John Sandford, and if you like mysteries, the series featuring Virgil is hilarious as well as being the aforesaid mystery. I recommend the series highly!)
I’ve had ’flu several times and measles twice….yes, I know they say you can only get it once, but my doctor said otherwise. The hallucinations were incredible…who needs chemicals?

Well, Andy sure acts like a NEMESIS to Flo, that’s for sure. @Linda Dean, NICE mashup of Andy C and Betty B.

And, just to get back on topic, the answer is “Nemesis” — but she was a goddess, not a god. Think of the Greek version of Karma.

And more ‘Squares’…
Q. During a tornado, are you safer in the bedroom or in the closet?
A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately Peter, I’m always safe in the bedroom.
Q. When you pat a dog on its head he will wag his tail. What will a goose do?
A. Paul Lynde: Make him bark?
Q. If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?
A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.
Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn’t neglected.

Agreed. It’s an outstanding film.

Right you are, Guv. The strip would add by subtraction if the guys would lose Guitar Bob and Pub Quizzes.

I like today’s strip, and that pub game looks like fun. I have always loved playing Trivial Pursuit.

After about 50 years, the mother in law jokes have really gotten quite tired.
