Enjoying the heck outta this! I started back here on gocomics as far as their archives go (2001). I wish there was a place that had reprints of the old stuff from the 60s when I was a kid.^Have you seen this site?I Love Comix – Dick Tracy
Yes, that’s the second Buckaroo Banzai reference recently. I’m not sure whether it might be part of a coming story or just a passing mention, but I’m starting to think that it actually could be connected to an upcoming story.
Tracy may for now be bemused by his ‘tween-aged granddaughter’s musical preferences, but he won’t be smiling when something goes terribly wrong at the theatre—it’s traditional in the Tracyverse, don’t you know? Or will it be at the TV studio? So many venues, so many assassination plots….
Another place to look through the old DT strips is newspapers.yahoo.com. It is archive of dozens of no longer in printer newspapers. There are several that have the DT strips. New and Courrier, Lawrence World Journal, Calgary Herald, Herald Journal, and others. Takes a little work as you have to read the strips one day at a time. But you can enjoy the Alley Opps, Gasoline Alley, Orphan Anne and others at the same time.
IMHO, this is the most excitement one’s heart can take. The throb of every heartbeat goes beyond mortal expectation. I cannot experience the sensation without saying it is rooted in genius.
and this waste of an “entry” was needed for what reason exactly? this couldnt have been handled in a one panel phone call or even a wrist wizard connection between tracy and honeymoon? did they REALLY need to interrupt a storyline for this little interlude?
oh wait, this is DICK TRACY.. the strip that bounces so much between storylines you feel like youre trapped inside a gigantic pinball machine.. and youre the little silver ball!
" OOHHHHH!!! Is today’s strip the calm before the storm? “Watch out Dick!! There are enemies plotting to hurt you. Don’t relax and stay alert!!!!! OOHHH this is so exciting*!!!!! “*-————————————————————————————Really sympathize with you, having daily, to experience the realities of a quality comic strip (particularly, with Joe Staton’s Art) and reading a board cluttered with a multitude of congratulatory posts ! With you, could it be on going Contempt ? If so, I imagine (painful?) SHIVERS - run up and down, your emotional spine ? You’ve even used the word *”Wow" !*
Actually, the real WOW is, that these Guys won a Harvey Award !. First meaningful achievement for Dick Tracy work since Gould’s Reuben Award back in 1977 !
While you come again, with comments, seemingly dripping with insincere platitudes and (today) illustrating them, with first a *’*Bleeding Heart*’*, and then a flow of Crocodile Tears ?
Not a nice scene for you or the rest ! Can’t be easy SDM, while you’re likely sitting there, pen behind your ear, while having to hold a strip, FROZEN like a Pruneface Ice Lolly – - in one of Freezedrai’s – - – Cryonics Machines ! (?)
Stilldamatt, tell Nurse Tracy to cut back on the quays about 2000 mg/day and let’s see if we can get you back to normal. Maybe we can even see some more of the kid and the stupid cat. Whacha say? Did they ever get a replacement watch? When they do, don’t shake it so much, or….. maybe take it off.

True story: Mike met his wife, Carole, because they’re both Buckaroo fans and she was wearing a Hong Kong Cavaliers jacket when Mike first saw her… :D

Right about now, we need a couple of “oh-oh” chords on Rosa Rio’s old Hammond organ ! (You’ve got to be 70+ to ‘get’ that.)

So the TV show is on Sunday? It’s a good thing the Sunday strips have extra panels. I’m expecting a lot of action and possibly new plot twists.
