LOL! My ex has a very common name and we would get wrong calls for “John Doe” two or three times a week. One night about 2:00 am our phone rang and he answered. I heard “yeah, okay, no problem, bye”. I asked who it was and he told me it was someone who wanted “John Doe” the mechanic at the Mazda dealership, to pick up his car first thing in the morning and take it to the shop. “But John you don’t work at Mazda”. “Yeah, I know.”

When I get calls like this I just ask them if they can hold for a short time, put the phone in the bell of my saxophone and play Cry Me A River as loud as I can.

I get 7 or 8 calls a day from “Unknown Caller”. I am SO going to do this. The national DNC list is a farce. Seems like I get more calls now than before I was on it.

    Well put, Frank!

I get recorded phone calls on my mobile as well as text messages saying I need to claim for compensation.

Love you Frank. In Canada – lottery and contest wins are tax free and it is illegal to charge a fee to collect your prize..So when I get one of those unknown number calls that am told I won a prize. I let them talk and talk and talk. (just to be sure). And when I’m asked for my credit card – I explain- its a prize, there is no charge. Then there is the “but you will lose your prize if you don’t pay the handling fee” … Its not a prize if you have to pay. .Have gotten a few blue streaks. The trick is always be nice – it drives them crazy.
