Moon, er, Mysta seems to be doing well.

I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Drs. Ghote and Sail.LOL, and some of you out there were hoping the Moon Maid chat would go away.

I’m glad that she is adapting so well!

Wow, mentions or appearances of 7 characters we haven’t seen for weeks! Mysta looks fine to me. She just has her mouth twisted in concentration. I wonder what George Tarawa could be sending. It goes to show that characters don’t seem to vanish so quickly these days, though I’m still not convinced that there could be any hope for Sail and Ghote. I hope there’s not too much police resources devoted to watching their homes and HQ, because they aren’t likely to show up there, in any case.

Just look at that face. She’s been trying to get the Obamacare web site to work… (It’s a JOKE people, NOT a political comment so please don’t get your feathers ruffled.)

Maybe the Lunarians intercepted Ghote and company. Or maybe Hubble should look to see if orbiting Jupiter there’s an orbiting object casting a rectangular shadow on its surface…especially if the strip introduces a character named David Bowman…

What kind of science fiction would you find in a world where moon people and space coupes are real?

Diet Smith’s comments are guarded and vague. Is Mysta Chimera actually enrolled in a local college? Or is just an online student? Would she be a Popular Culture major, specializing in science fiction?What does Smith really know about the fate of Ghote and Sail? Is he really destroying (deconstructing is the word he uses) all his lunar technology?And, meanwhile, how is Abner Kadaver’s plot progressing?And what would Tarawa be sending to Mysta?—Lots of questions, looking for answers….

I don’t think Tracy will ever see Dr. Sail or Dr. Ghote again. Not unless they figure out how to turn around the space craft. They gotta be hungry, thirsty and have to relieve themselves by now!

One. Glad to see some of the colorist issues have been cleared up. Gone (for the most part) are the blue horns and hair. Better than the Arizona Sentinel versions I had reverted to saving instead of Go Comics..Yngvar: I agree. What is science fiction in a science fiction comic strip?.Sisyphos: I agree. What is the point of getting rid of moon tech – and keeping a faux Moon Maid?

I can visualize what would come down on me if something dressed up like MML showed up in my office on the payroll.

Oh interesting. I just finished re-reading the Sweatbux, George strips again. Perhaps these two threads will be finally resolved. Give my best to Mr. Takai, and his husband, gentlemen.

Yes! And right after the full moon, yet! How fitting. Great to see Team Tracy giving us something to subside on until they (HOPEFULLY) resume the Mysta storyline in the likely distant future!

FRAMING the ’ NEAR FUTURE ’ ?

Looks like Mike and Joe have today, taken a short – “time out” - - to ‘frame’ the jumping off points for their next back story, really ‘touching base’ (for readers) on who’ll be the central players or characters then. Seems they are all there, save Mélies and Venus (ot the Dark Hearts Crime Group) And you might think Notta Chin Chillar, who still hasn’t contributed any SUBSTANCE to the story lines – as we thought would be the case ?

Readers remain curious on the outcome for the villains pictured in Panel 1, and if the Space Coupe may circle Jupiter and head back to Earth ? Perhaps then (if Mike so wishes), Zy Ghote can confirm or clarify for all, the identity of MM ! The only thread on that item, is what Zy Ghote told Diet, and there is a reasonable question on the truth there, given Zy’s reputation. It’s a final “call” (or change) only writer Mike can make, if he feels disposed to do so !

Diet continues to keep his cards ‘close to the chest’, on any action he might have taken to send Ghote and Sail on their long journey. Certainly the scripting has led this reader to think he did arrange it ! (?)

And there, in the final panel our writer has nudged the door to ‘hint/ at more Sci Fi ahead, via MM’s remarks. (if one had failed to grasp the ‘significance’ of the Moon People’s appearance at the Moon Maid grave site) Really a welcome ‘signal’ to tell us they had not perished and that a story including them (perhaps not the next one?), would be coming down the road one Moonlight night !

Here a scenario beautifully set up to allow a wide variety of options, and and on-going hook to keep readers wanting to find out what’s coming next !

It could be a – ‘text book’ example or study, on (‘how to do it’) for aspiring young writers !Those are the *"*meaningful*"* things (and skills) that many a critic here would be wise to note and if needed – emulate !.

I’ll leave the guessing to you guys. I’m enjoying what I’m seeing. I would like to hear from Dr. Ghoute and Dr. Sail, though!

Could someone PLEASE tell FMM that it’s a whole lot easier to use a keyboard WITHOUT gloves on your hands?^And tell Tracy to stop wearing his yellow trench-coat in the middle of Summer as well.

By the way, Tracy does change his outfit occasionally – we’ve seen him in overalls while under cover at a farm, for example; he wore a “ball-cap” style hat in the 70s while visiting an old stone quarry, and he wore a light colored suit (yellow in the Sunday paper) while on his honeymoon. These are notable because they are rare exceptions; Tracy just wouldn’t be himself if he went too long without that snap-brim fedora and coat.

Ray Toler: Thanks for the reminder of Mysta and Sawdust!.Back before it became apparent that Mike and Joe were going with a faux Moon Maid, I had hoped to see a return of this strip-within-a-strip, perhaps as a way to positively identify Mysta as the original Moon Maid..Even if she is not the real Moon Maid, it would still be nice to see an occasional return of Sawdust!

While Gould often had 2 or 3 stories going on at one time, he mainly kept to a main one, then worked the others into it; I have to agree that Mike is shooting out too many vines on the tree and may strangle it. But, the strip is still 400 times better than it was under the previous regime.

I agree with you there. The way he is holding it looks a little awkward, but not nearly as awkward as the way characters were holding their phones is the stories that were published just before the new team took over.
