Think twice Before you do something, then you shouldn’t have second thoughts afterward!!

I believe that is a connotation/denotation thing. On the other hand…

If you think twice, the opportunity to do something rash will have already passed.

Despite the Star Wars reference, a parasec is a measure of distance not time.

I would agree that, from a logical point of view, thinking twice and 2nd thoughts are exactly the same thing. From a moral point of view, they would seem to be different.

Using your example: Those leftovers went bad, man I should have ordered pizza.

Logically those would be 3rd thoughts, but having regrets about the leftovers would make them 2nd thoughts.

    Maybe I am over-thinking this.

Because thinking twice is a cardinal rule and second thoughts are a fraction…too late.

Yep, sure have… I always joked the overdrive in my Volvo P1800 was “Light Speed”. Fortunately, I never had to debate that with a cop. :-)

I have trouble with some of the new usage of old worlds — like “oversight”I’m waiting to hear the excuse “better oversight would have prevented that oversight!”

The answer to both the logic puzzle and the morals one:

The difference is there is no action in between ‘Thinking Twice’, but some action has been happened before the ‘Second Thought’.

Because if you’ve already thought twice they would be third thoughts.
