The Texas Legislature recently passed the Merry Christmas Bill in 2013. This new law protects Texan’s right to acknowledge traditional winter holidays on school grounds. This includes the traditional Christmas type celebrations minus any religious trappings. If the school is public it is covered by the law. You shouldn’t believe everything you read. Of course other states may still be overly PC.
Readers Digest (or perhaps Catholic Digest) told about a Christmas pageant where one little boy wanted real bad to be Joseph; but the part went to another boy and as a consolation our subject got to be the innkeeper. Come the big day and here come Mary and Joseph looking for a place to stay. Our aggrieved innkeeper made a big show of welcoming the Holy Family and offering the best room in the place. “Wait here,” Joseph told Mary, “I don’t like the sound of this.” Joseph made a brief show of looking around; then said to Mary, “Nothing to see here; we’ll keep moving.” Show’s back on the rails.
