It’s not all that uncommon. More than a few brides, grooms, and parents have had to have been bailed out of jail the next day. Sometimes, the dearly beloved quickly become the dearly departed.
We did have a disagreement over whether to open cards without gifts when we opened the gifts at the post-reception party. I wanted to hear from those people; my wife wanted to not bore the guests present. As ever since, we went with her preference.
