Nice to see Red has his priorities in order. Rover always comes first.

I have teh same excuse for housework and other things that need doing when I get home. Hey, a tired dog is a well behaved dog. Besides… it is fun!

Kind of like I “need” to read the comics before I do my other tasks… :-)

I just realized that Red has no human friends, AFAIK. We sometimes see him talking to ever-changing, anonymous classmates when he is at school, but that’s about it. I know many of you will say that he doesn’t need any more friends when he has Rover, but I believe building (human) relationships is an important skill and I would be somewhat concerned if I were Red’s parent. Heck, even Martin has several friends. And even Rover has Zeke and Reuben.

“Hi & Lois” isn’t just about Hi and Lois. “Judge Parker” is rarely about Judge Parker. And “Barney Google & Snuffy Smith” hasn’t even shown Barney in decades AFAIK.

Yet “Red and Rover” frequently features Zeke and Reuben even though they are not in the title. And Martin frequently goes out with friends or talks on the phone with them, or watches TV with his girlfriend, even though he’s not even in the title.  The fact that Red’s friends are never featured cannot be dismissed simply because they are not mentioned in the title. That overlook actually tells as a lot of the concept that Brian Basset has in his head about Red’s life, consciously or subconsciously.

My dog was never went up there, She was scared of up there. The only thing she was more frighted of was thunder — THAT sent her running up there to me.
