If I were a kid today, I would have definitely been medicated.

It is no longer called ADD. It is now all classified as ADHD. My niece and some of her children have it and medication really does help. With that said, I just went and got my son tested yesterday to get the teacher off my back. He is gifted with a high IQ. He is not currently challenged in the public school system so they think he has ADHD. I searched out a physcologist who specializes in gifted kids because they are a bit different. He was given a 3 hour intelligence test to test his true IQ and his attention span. The physcologist said he did great and she had his attention the entire time. Can’t wait to see the results……..

I’ll take them all, anytime. Always room for a rescue dog.

Do you why the “normals” want to keep those who are blessed with ADD/ADHD medicated? They know that if we get our act together we could run the world. However, when you look at the world and the people who populate it, why would we want it?

Heck, when I was a kid, I was diagnosed Hyperactive, without all that attention def nonsense. Then they PCed it to Hyperkinectivity. Frankly couldn’t care less about what they called it, as long asquirrel!

Since the schools teach to the lowest common denominator(no child left behind), the bright kids are so bored they get in trouble. The only thing they do is load them up with “busy work”. It is a waste of talent, the really bright kids whose parents can’t or won’t find alternate education could very well have a criminal on their hands.
