No bull: the Australian Prime Minister yesterday promised not to break his election promises. This is after, some months back, telling the country that we can’t always believe him.
Was he lying about sometimes lying, or was he lying about not breaking his promises? Was he telling the truth about not being fully trustworthy, or was that a lie?
Phrases like “I’’m being honest with you when I tell you so-and-so” drive me crazy – it implies that they were previously not honest at all. Are you to believe them now?
